Unrequited love

I wish I could be
Another me
Not so weak or angry
Graceful and pretty
I’d walk in the city
And maybe then I’d be the version of myself you always needed
I wish I could water myself down
Put on a mask of someone else
No longer drowning in self loathing
I’d be the girl you want
But the girl I am is everything
Ugly, angry and delusional
1000 different “she’s”
Can you really handle me?
Which version of her is yours?
Am I a late night graze across your lips
Am I a burning sun in your sky
Or just a dying light when you look into my eyes?
Chasing your moonlit radiance
I revolve around your orbit
But never quite reaching you,

My unrequited love
